STEP ONE
Shift Your Mindset
It’s time to get the clarity you need on how you got to where you are today in your current diet mentality, where you need to go and how to get there. When you do shift your mindset and reject the diet mentality, losing weight becomes something that happens organically without all the dieting rules you have for yourself.
This step sets the foundation for the breakthroughs that are still to come. So many people brush the past under a rug, but that prevents you from making the needed mindset shifts to really succeed.
In this step, you will:
Understand clearly your dieting history and the dieting rules that have evolved over the years so you can kick them to the curb.
Learn what your current eating style is and why it’s not serving you.
Discover the steps you will go through in order to reclaim the intuitive eater that’s buried deep within.
Acknowledge that you have hit “diet bottom” and begin the shift to rejecting your diet mentality.
Module 1: Hitting Diet Bottom
In this module, we look at what it really means to “hit diet bottom” and acknowledge loud and clear how dieting has affected you physically, mentally and emotionally. I will help you identify the destructive eating styles you currently engage in and you will become clear on how to move away from these damaging eating styles.
Module 2: Reject the Diet Mentality
In this module, I help you get clear on your diet mindset and you begin to make the shifts needed to a healthy non-diet mindset using 3 powerful steps.
STEP TWO
Build Your Support & Self-Care Plan
Now that you have begun your mindset shift, it’s time to set up your support system and think about self-care. While we recognize you are doing this for yourself, it is important to have a strong support network and even more important to be sure your basic needs are being met. Together, we will build that network and put self-care practices into place so you have the confidence and strength to stay true to your commitment to learning a diet free way of living.
In this step, you will:
Build a support system with key players who can fill vital roles to enhance your success.
Identify the areas of self-care needing your immediate attention (there are 7 areas of self-care that we explore).
Learn to set boundaries with others that you can live by in an effort of improving your own self-care.
Be confident when setting limits with people so you have no regrets.
Module 3: Meeting Your Basic Needs of Self-Care
In this module we will delve into the 7 key areas of self-care and develop your personalized Self-Care Plan so you are making yourself a priority in your life in order to regain the trust in your body.
Module 4: Building Your Support Network
Support is an essential ingredient on your journey. In this module, we will create your Social Support Network and you will begin to reach out to them as the need arises.
STEP THREE
Honor Your Body
Now that you’ve shifted your mindset and improved your self-care, it’s time to honor your body in a way that you have never before. This is where the most powerful transitions happen that will finally allow you to make peace with food.We’re going to learn how to tune into your thoughts, feelings and body so you’re properly listening to your inner signals and letting them guide you in your eating. This is the key to being free from the pain of dieting and eating without guilt.
In this step, you will:
Learn how to honor your hunger by understanding what triggers hunger and what it truly feels like.
Discover the key to respecting your fullness so that you are no longer a member of the “clean the plate” club.
Understand the key practices of mindful eating and how you can recapture the pleasures of eating once again.
Learn how to cope with your emotions without turning to food.
Module 5: Honor Your Hunger
In this module you will begin to understand the biological mechanisms that turn on your desire to eat. I will help you listen for and hear the gentle sensations of hunger; you will learn how to honor those first signs of hunger as your guide to begin eating.
Module 6: Feel Your Fullness
In this module you will learn the key to respecting your fullness and how to recognize “comfortable satiety”. I’ll show you the steps to take to move away from auto-pilot eating so you no longer eat past your biological fullness signals.
Module 7: Discover the Satisfaction Factor
I will show you how to experience true satisfaction in your eating experiences so you can enjoy your food without feelings of guilt. You will learn powerful mindful eating techniques that will that will enhance your eating pleasure.
Module 8: Cope with Your Emotions without Using Food
In this module you will discover what emotions drives your overeating and what you are truly hungry for. You will learn the 4 key steps and questions you must ask yourself in order to learn how to cope with your emotions without using food. You will also learn 3 ways to meet your needs without food.
STEP FOUR
Transform Your Inner Voice
A key part of transforming your relationship with food is making peace with your “trigger” foods so you are no longer afraid to eat them, or have them in your home.
In this step, you will:
Learn to give yourself unconditional permission to eat what you love without the worry of overeating.
Discover how to replace the destructive dieting voices with powerful ally voices.
Learn to reframe negative self-talk into positive self-talk and use these new voices to respect your “here and now” body.
Identify what your natural healthy weight is so you can feel better about who you are and put an end to body worry.
Module 9: Make Peace with Food
In these modules you will discover how depriving yourself of the foods you love leads to overeating and binge eating, also called “Rebound Eating”. You will learn about the many different types of rebound eating which leads to the “Seesaw Syndrome” of guilt versus deprivation. You will come to understand what it means to give yourself unconditional permission to eat as you work through the 5 Step Peace Process that will ultimately enable you to rebuild the trust in your food choices and in your body.
Module 10: Challenge the Destructive Dieting Voices
In this module you will identify the dieting voices that keep you in the world of dieting and in a diet mentality and you will become familiar with the powerful ally voices that will pave your way to becoming an intuitive eater. You will discover how these eating voices originated and how they progressed into your adulthood. You will become skilled at noticing the destructive voices and will be able to turn them into more positive voices, using those more powerful voices to reclaim the trust in yourself and your food choices.
Module 11: Turn Negative Self-Talk into Positive Self-Talk
In this module you will identify your irrational and distorted dieting thoughts and replace them with thoughts and beliefs that are more rational. You will learn how to use self-talk to fight the destructive dieting voices and how to reframe negative self-talk into positive self- talk which will lead to positive behaviors.
Module 12: Respect Your Body
In this module, you will discover why it’s important to respect your current “here-and-now” body while on your journey towards intuitive eating. You will learn 8 ways you can offer more respect to your body and to yourself. You will determine your natural healthy weight and become realistic in your expectations, thereby opening the door to body acceptance and being at peace with your body.
STEP FIVE
Nourish Your Body
At this point in the process, the intuitive eater that lies within you has re-awakened. You are now ready to learn how to nourish and move your body in a way that feels right for you, and only you. You will find at this point that you are choosing lighter, healthier foods not because you think you should, but because you feel better when you eat this way.
In this step, you will:
Learn how to integrate the nutrition, exercise and health guidelines in the outside world into your inner world to achieve authentic health.
Discover how to make informed food choices that honor your health and your body.
Understand how mindful exercise and body movement rejuvenates you and enhances your mind-body connection.
Learn how to incorporate “play foods” into your day without feelings of guilt.
Module 13: Mindful Exercise
In this module, you will come face-to-face with your true feelings towards exercise and you will break through any exercise barriers you have. You will learn the health benefits of exercise and being active, which reach way beyond losing weight. You will make a lifelong commitment to exercise and body movement by understanding and engaging in mindful exercise.
Module 14: Nutrition for You
In this module, you will release the food worry that has embattled you for years. You will explore the nutrition recommendations from the external world and decide what to integrate into your internal world to ultimately achieve authentic health. You will take charge of your nutrition decisions to support a healthy life.
